Providing free sanitary products to girls in need
Watoto Wa Baraka’s Sanitary Pad Programme helps girls realise their right to education. We do this by providing free sanitary products to under- privileged girls, offering them health and hygiene education and empower them to overcome the stigmas attached to their menstruation cycle.
Since April 2008 we have been providing sanitary towels for 100 girls, aged 12-17, in the Maragwa District of Kenya with the goal of expanding this number to 1000.
Based on this project we aim to build a platform for replication in other parts of Africa and the across the developing world.
